2021, kt., 799 Seiten. The primary purpose of writing this monographic publication is to enlist all the different forms of the herpetofauna so far officially recorded from Iraq, based on their internationally accepted scientific names as well as their common equivalent English, Arabic, and some other vernacular names, along with their representative characteristics and taxonomic synonyms. It appears that the rather systematically diversified herptile community of this small Middle-Eastern country is currently of order of 148 species; consisting of 14 species of amphibians (6 species of newts and salamanders and 8 species of frogs and toads) and 134 species of reptiles (8 species of turtles and their allies, 68 species of lizards, and 58 species of snakes).
