The geographic framework and natural habitats are presented; the distribution of the species and the endemicity are analysed in connection with the ecological constraints (rainfall, temperature, elevation...); detailed information about biology and ecology arranged by habitat and country as well as a discussion on conservation and biodiversity protection for each country are provided. A table shows endemicity and distribution of all species in the area covered by the guide. An identification key (bilingual French/English), fully original and lavishly illustrated with numerous high quality drawings (made by the authors), allows easy identification of the amphibians from Gabon and Mbini.
